The infrastructure of trust in heritage cuisine

Livora is a food-technology company. Beneath every dish ordered, every chef onboarded, and every payment settled sits a platform built to do one difficult thing reliably: connect people to authentic, verified heritage cooking at scale, without losing the trust that makes that cooking worth seeking out.

Our technology is the quiet layer that makes this possible. It powers Cook4Me today and will power Ofe at launch, giving both brands a shared foundation for identity, discovery, payments, safety, and compliance. This page explains how that foundation works.

The platform

A platform, not a single product

Most food platforms optimise for speed and volume. Livora optimises for provenance — proving that the person cooking your meal genuinely holds the heritage, skill, and standards they claim to. That single commitment shapes every system we build.

We operate as a parent platform with brand-level experiences on top:

  • Cook4Meour verified heritage-cuisine chef marketplace, connecting customers with chefs whose authenticity and food-safety credentials have been independently checked.
  • Ofeour next product, currently in development for a Q2 2027 commercial launch, extending Livora’s platform into a new dimension of the heritage-food experience.

Both brands draw on the same core services, which means improvements to verification, payments, or safety made for one brand strengthen the other automatically.

Core pillars

Core technology pillars

01

Identity and heritage verification

Verification is where trust begins, and it remains the backbone of the platform. Every chef on Cook4Me passes through a structured, multi-stage process before they can accept a single order:

  • Identity confirmationverifying that a chef is who they say they are, using document checks and identity validation.
  • Food-safety credentialsconfirming that chefs hold the appropriate UK food-hygiene certification and operate to recognised standards, in line with UK regulatory frameworks.
  • Heritage and skill validationassessing genuine fluency in the cuisine a chef offers, so that “heritage” is a substantiated claim rather than a marketing label.
  • Ongoing reviewverification is not a one-time gate. Standing, ratings, and compliance status are monitored continuously, and credentials are re-checked rather than assumed permanent.

The result is a marketplace where a customer can order with confidence that the person cooking has been independently vetted on identity, safety, and authenticity — the three things that matter most and are hardest to fake.

02

Discovery and intelligent matching

Verification establishes who a chef is; discovery determines how the right customer finds them. Livora’s matching layer connects diners with chefs based on cuisine, heritage tradition, location, availability, and taste preferences — surfacing the cooks most relevant to each customer rather than simply the most prominent.

This is where Livora’s technology compounds: as more verified chefs and more customer interactions flow through the platform, matching becomes sharper, helping smaller and newer chefs reach the diners who are genuinely looking for exactly what they cook.

03

Payments and marketplace infrastructure

A two-sided marketplace only works if money moves cleanly and fairly between everyone involved. Livora’s payment infrastructure is built on a robust, PCI-compliant payments backbone (Stripe Connect) that handles the complexity of paying many independent chefs across many transactions.

  • Transparent two-sided modela clear commission structure shared between chef and customer keeps the platform sustainable while remaining fair to both sides.
  • Secure, automated payoutschefs are paid reliably and on schedule, with the platform handling the orchestration behind the scenes.
  • Protected transactionscard data is never handled directly by Livora; payment flows run through certified, encrypted infrastructure.

The effect is invisible to the customer and reassuring to the chef: payments simply work, settle correctly, and can scale to thousands of independent vendors without manual intervention.

04

Trust, safety, and quality assurance

Verification gets a chef onto the platform. Quality assurance keeps standards high over time. Livora combines verified credentials with continuous signals — customer reviews, order outcomes, and compliance monitoring — to maintain the integrity of the marketplace as it grows.

When something goes wrong, structured dispute and resolution flows protect both customer and chef, ensuring issues are handled fairly rather than left to erode trust. Safety isn’t a feature bolted on at the edge; it is woven through the order lifecycle from onboarding to delivery.

05

Data protection, security, and compliance

Operating in the UK food sector means meeting a demanding bar on data protection and regulatory compliance, and Livora is built to clear it.

  • Privacy by designpersonal and payment data is handled in line with UK GDPR, with data minimisation and protection built into the architecture rather than added afterwards.
  • Regulatory alignmentthe platform is designed around UK food-safety and consumer-protection frameworks, reflecting deep familiarity with the regulatory environment heritage-food businesses must operate within.
  • Secure by defaultencryption in transit and at rest, controlled access, and modern security practices protect customers, chefs, and the business alike.
Architecture

Built for scale

Livora’s platform runs on cloud-native infrastructure designed to grow with demand. A modular, service-oriented architecture means each capability — verification, matching, payments, safety — can evolve independently, so the platform improves continuously without disruptive rebuilds.

This architecture is deliberately brand-agnostic. It is the reason a single technology foundation can carry both Cook4Me and Ofe, and the reason future Livora products can launch on proven rails rather than starting from zero.

What's next

What's next: Ofe

Ofe — taking its name from the Igbo word for “soup” — is Livora’s next product, in active development toward a Q2 2027 commercial launch. It extends the Livora platform into a new chapter of the heritage-food experience, built on the same verified, secure, and scalable foundation that powers Cook4Me today.

More detail will follow as we approach launch. What won’t change is the principle underneath it: technology in service of authenticity, trust, and the people who keep heritage cuisine alive.

The Livora commitment

Behind every feature on this page is a single idea — that the easiest way to honour heritage cuisine is to make it effortless to trust. Livora’s technology exists to verify what’s real, connect it to the people who want it, settle the value fairly, and protect everyone along the way.

That is the infrastructure of trust. It is what we build.
